Review: Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion

Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion

When I got this from Sample Room and put it on my night basket for review, I didn’t really expect much from it. I read around Twitter that its scent is surprisingly reminiscent of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea and the only reason I even got it was to consume all 100 points for my purchase of the Ahava All-in-One Toning Cleanser sample. Boy, was I in for a huge surprise…

Price:

Moringa O2 Lotion costs 25 points or Php 129.75 / 125ml, full-size. I was ecstatic upon getting this sample! I never did figure out why Sample Room low-balled this one but I'm not complaining.

Their Facebook page doesn't list where you can find Moringa O2 products and I don't really see much of it around, so I'm sorry I can't tell you where to buy it other than from Sample Room.

Product Description:

Moringa O2 is a line from Ardent Natural Skin Care brand, that's focused on harnessing the benefits of Malunggay, Omega and Olive Oil. These guys are the same makers of Gluta-C products, FYI!

This lotion has UVA/UVB lotion and is light enough to use in the daytime. The smell is indeed, highly reminiscent of Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea.

How to Use:

Spread over desired body parts. Wow, that sounded really awkward! Clearly I’m better off as a mystery crime writer than a body care writer.

Performance:

The Malunggay Lotion dries up fast and is not a bother to use right before bed. I’m guessing it would be great as a daytime lotion too given how light it is, and that it has UVA and UVB protection. SPF is not listed.

I like that it's watery enough to be absorbed quickly. In less than ten minutes it’s as if I never put any lotion at all, and in a good way. My skin feels light and fresh even in that ten-minute window where I still feel remnants of the lotion's moisture. A word of caution though: I'm not sure this is moisturizing enough for people with parched skin and I recommend it to people who are looking to maintain normal to dry skin.

I consider myself having parched facial skin and dry body skin. Malunggay Lotion worked just right to normalize my skin's elasticity and hydration.

There are claims posted in Sample Room about how it helps with Keratosis Pilaris (KP.) I know so many people who are so conscious of tiny red bumps on their arms and often, they mistake it for skin asthma. I was a little wary of this claim so I did before and after shots of my upper arm.

Before and After: 44 days of Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Lotion

As you can see, I still have a significant number of red spots on my arm even after over six weeks of use- I usually give cures and remedies only two weeks to take effect. The bumps weren't as angry but I would hardly consider that as evidence that it worked since there are still so many spots.

However, I didn't exfoliate, so I wonder if that could have removed the spots. Online general info suggests that these conditions do improve with hydration (i.e. lotion) so I don't really think I need this specific lotion to combat this skin issue.

Edge:

Moringa O2 Malunggay Lotion has a great scent and very lightweight formula. Those who believe in the herbapeutic powers of Malunggay will never let go of their Moringa O2 bottles.

Lasting Power:

Sadly, the scent is faint on my skin and only lasts for about ten to twenty minutes. Hydration is good enough though you could probably do with two applications during the day. People with very dry, flaky skin might need something a little more heavy duty.

Rebuy:

If I used lotions, I would stick to this and rebuy for sure. Being a non-fan of the whole lotion experience yet enjoying this review says something about the awesomeness of Malunggay Lotion.

Beauty by Tellie score:

4.75/5I just nocked off 0.25 because lotions, for me, are a more intense way of fragrancing yourself. It’s points against the brand if the scent is too faint or wears off to quickly.

That's the only minor, negative thing I have to say. This lotion is inexpensive, smells great and is herbapeutic! The lightweight formula is great for those who hate sticky lotions and are in a rush to sleep or get clothed.

If you're not sold yet, just remember: I hate lotions. I'm too lazy to put them on and am perpetually annoyed by the feeling of having a coat of liquid on my skin. I often feel like taking a shower immediately after putting on lotions yet I still have a special place in my heart for Moringa O2 <3

What do you think of Malunggay/Moringa? I love it as food and trust in its herbapeutic benefits :)
