August 2013 BDJ Box, ft. Shiseido Ibuki!

Oh...

My...

August 2013 BDJ Box: Impressions

GOSH!

August 2013 BDJ Box ft. Shiseido Ibuki

I've died and gone to box heaven.

I feel bittersweet about this box. I'm soooo sososo glad that I was able to get it, but at the same time feel so bad that I'm missing out on something potentially as awesome for the month of September. Yes, ladies and gents, your subscription boxes queen will be missing her first ever BDJ Box (and second subscription box) ever since I put myself on the throne :(

It's a sad, sad story. I get quarterly subscriptions and my previous sub was for the June to August boxes. I normally repurchase when I get my third box or when I see "almost sold out" announcements. Sadly, the end of July marked the prep for my hiatus. I must not have seen said announcements or maybe they didn't get to communicate such announcements due to their major site overhaul.

Whatever happened, I'm still depressed. I'm okay with missing certain boxes but definitely not BDJ! It's giving me the major sads but I am holding out hope of getting one.

You are my solace...

ANYWAY. I'm a HUGE Shiseido fan and this second Shiseido box could not have come at a better time! (Read all about the first one here). You all know how hiyang (balanced) my skin is with Shiseido products; that's mainly why I'm a fan. I'm more thrilled that it's a COMPLETE sampler set of their latest release, the Ibuki line. This isn't everything in the line, FYI, but it makes it does complete your Cleanse-Tone-Moisturize routine.

August 2013 BDJ Box, ft. Shiseido Ibuki: Announcements and Welcome Letter

Liz of Project Vanity made me crave for it here.

Here's What I Got:

Shiseido Ibuki Gentle Cleanser, Php 1495 / 125ml. 30ml sample provided.

Yes, yes, a thousand yes'! Shiseido's foaming cleansers feel like a kiss from a rose on the grey (whut.) I don't know if this is a foaming cleanser but I LOVE Shiseido cleansers.

Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser, Php 1495 / 125ml. 5ml sample provided.

I initially did not get the inclusion of two cleansers. I first thought the two variants might be for different skin types but as it turns out, the purifying cleanser has micro-beads. It's an exfoliant and the smaller sample is perfect 'cause I won't be using this every day of the week.

Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate Php 1600 / 75ml. 15ml sample provided.

I would offer my soul for Shiseido softeners. Your usual toner refreshes; the Shiseido softener makes your cheeks feel like a cloud! This is truly a one-in-a-million, utmost deserving of HG-status product. If I could only buy one skincare product in the world, I would stop wearing makeup (yes, even undereye concealer!) and only use the softener on my skin.

Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream, Php 1800 / 15ml. 2ml sample provided.

It is only in receiving this line that the crazy-expensive prices of Shiseido hit me. Eye creams, along with anti-aging creams, are one of the most expensive pieces of skincare. Still, Php 1800 for 15ml is so heart-breaking, dude. The last Shiseido eye cream I tried was uncomfortably watery and got into my eyes. I hope this fares better.

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched, Php 1950 / 75ml. 10ml sample provided.

Aaaaa! This is the cutest! Nothing really groundbreaking with this moisturizer, other than it being part of the Ibuki line. I haven't really found anything particularly stellar about the Shiseido moisturizers but they do go fantastically well with the rest of the Shiseido products.

Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Cream, Php 5500 / 50ml. ~5ml sample provided.

I've gotten microscopic sample sachets of this cream. It seems to be anti-aging, as confirmed by the price of Php 5500 for 50ml of product, but I don't think I would be a good candidate to test this as I only patronize anti-aging creams for preventive purposes. 7-year review, anyone?

RECAP:

August 2013 BDJ Box, ft. Shiseido Ibuki

I've always marvelled at Shiseido samples. They're not cased in run-of-the-mill sample containers. The tubes are truly miniature versions of the product. Check out the detail in the moisturizer and toner! Also, each sample has a box (except the bio-performance sample.) How cool is that?!

The Ibuki Line is housed in plain, bone-white containers. So are the samples. It's designed to put your skin in a "super-hydrated" state and we all know how much I looooove that :P It's also meant to combat this generation's biggest skin concerns: UV, dryness, pore size and daily stress.

None of the products are full-size, but why can't I help but feel SO AMPED UP about this box?! Maybe because Shiseido is my spirit beauty-brand... But still. I shouldn't be this happy over this box!

And yet again.. I SHOULD BE! All along I've been griping against bits and pieces of skincare, wanting a purely cosmetic beauty box. However, I have stressed that I've always wanted to receive a full skincare line and ta-daaaa!

I was lined up to use the Laneige Essential Care Trial Set but I am going to sneak this in, mwahahahahahaha!

For this product shoot, I was stuck at my bf's and had no acceptable photoshoot setup. Thankfully, he's always oh so prepared and took great care in making sure he had a Shiseido-red blanket for my shoot. Perfect.
