I take brands like Physiogel for granted because they have this sort of boring feel to them. I guess it's good for them that they're reliable. I do find myself bringing a tube of the Intensive Cream with me whenever we go out of the country. It's just a no-fuss, sureball way of curing dry, flaky skin that's going berserk from the climate change.
It's also my CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action Plan, or the number one headache of my dayjob :] ) for my sporadic bouts of eczema. I like to keep a tube ready because who knows when these things will pop up? Plus, when I'm extra fish-scales-flaky on my legs, I immediately reach for Physiogel. I feel like other lotions are merely "decorative" in that they smell nice but nothing compares to the long-lasting moisture I get from Physiogel IC.
So what's new with the brand? MAJOR SADS because I think they've phased out the IC, but that's not why I'm posting. Physiogel is launching the #FreeInMySkin campaign which aims to free women from the insecurities they have about their dry skin. I'm pretty confident in that I don't worry about my mermaid-scaly legs, but I do feel conscious of the "chicken skin" on my arms. Basic and super-hydrating lotions (plus exfoliation) have been the only cure for that.

I'm so happy about this! I've been so curious about the Physiogel cleanser as an alternative to the only other "blank" cleanser I've tried so far, Cetaphil. It didn't work out so well for me so I'd love to see how Physiogel stacks up.
Physiogel Cleanser is a low-foam formula that can be used with or without water. It is hypoallergenic, non-comodogenic and soap-free. I think soap-free is the same as sulfate-free, but I'm not 100% sure. In any case, I did not spot any -sulfates in the ingredients list.
If you have sensitive skin, it is suggested that you use more Cleanser and not to introduce water to the mix. Meaning, simply wipe it off. I'm not sure how water affects the solution but it does remind of the French aversion to tap water and thus, the creation of micelle solutions.
Even better: The Cleansers now have pumps! They're included in a sealed plastic baggie inside the box- I think that's great! This huge bottle is a hassle to dispense from, especially when there's still a lot of product inside.
Nothing new with the Lotion, unlike with the Cleanser's pump, but I did learn something super interesting during the event*. Physiogel Lotion has patented BioMimic Technology. This means that it is specially formulated so that the ingredients are comparably similar to your skin's naturally-occurring lipids.
Hey, I didn't know that! Maybe that's why the moisture seems to "stick" more than with typical lotions.
*Last September 9, I was invited by GSK and First Tier to Physiogel's Free In My Skin campaign launch in Makati Shangri-La. Drinks and food were served, and media partners were given product samples and press information. Patty Grandidge was there to speak about #FreeInMySkin.
