FOTD: Fresh Bridal with Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara

I was recently sent the Maybelline Hypercurl mascara (Php 199) and the first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that it's only Php 199. What the heck?! Can we just sit down for a moment and admire this magnificent pricing? Signature mascaras are at Php 800 to 1200 and I can honestly say that my drugstore favorites are at par or even outperform signature mascaras. You also have to replace your mascaras every 2-3 months, which I don't really live by ehe, so finding affordable ones can leave your budget free for ~more makeup.

The Hypercurl isn't new, I remember getting one in my May 2013 BDJ Box. It's being reintroduced to the market with a new gel gormula that: prevents irritations, offers a natural look and is smudge proof. My eyes are not really sensitive but in the handful of times I've used it since receiving it, I've loved the definition it gives my flimsy lashes.

The Anchor: Lashes

Maybelline Hypercurl is confusingly named because I don't believe it does anything special for my curl. Instead, the most obvious effect I've observed is that it does look very dolled up-natural.

The gel is dry enough to leave my lashes defined and separated. Overly wet formulae tend to clump my lashes and thus make me look like I have three pieces of hair attached to my eye. I don't think it volumizes each lash by a lot but I like how it coats: enough to be seen but never to clump.

This is the mascara you use to get that emphasized but natural look, and in fact, JOKY randomly complimented my lashes when I wore Hypercurl! I usually overdress my lashes so for her to say it looked natural speaks for the effects of Hypercurl.

The Rest of the Face:

I went with soft lavender eyes and pale pink lips. Here I used Lt Pink and Mauve from the Lorac PRO Palette. I lined the lower lashline with a bit of Sable as well, just to add definition to my flat eyes. Bridal looks are extremely soft but not necessarily neutral, so I went with two soft colors that have a tinge of lilac in them.

I randomly chose Pixy Lasting Matte Lipstick in Be In Love (how apt!) but found the pink too harsh for the look. I combined it with one of my favorite neutralizers, Too Cool for School Glam Rock Smoky Nudy in Pale Beige.

I colored my cheeks with my lightest, near-invisible pink blush The Body Shop Single Blush in PK01. I used BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream and set it with Maquillage Snow Beauty Powder.

I'm currently enjoying Maybelline Hypercurl for everyday, light looks!!!
