About four months ago, Laneige released their Two Tone Lip Bars (Php 1200.) These rectangular lipsticks had two shades-in-one and promised that perfect gradient lip in just one swipe. I was completely excited for it, going so far as to visit the Robinson's Magnolia pop-up during the release. I don't even check out makeup releases in person unless I've been invited by a brand!

The Laneige girls were very gracious during my trial - Laneige SAs are the best! I wasn't even sure if I was going to buy but they patiently helped me dig through the ten-shade collection to find my top picks.

10 Burgundy Love is a wine-and-pink duo. I like the stark difference between the two shades because my lips are pretty big and can handle a lot going on in it.

5 Darling Darling is a red-and-hot pink duo. I didn't want to bother with it at first but the SAs said it is a must-try. I thought the colors were too similar and wouldn't look gradiented but I really like to overall look.

8 Neon Juice is a bubblegum pink-and-orange duo. I was afraid the colors wouldn't show up on my lips but I love how light and fresh it made me look! > on the lip area. I know I have major eye baggage going on here making me look decidedly unfresh :(

The bars are all have a jelly-like texture. It gives a great glossy look which is the perfect final touch for gradient lips, but it also makes application a bit difficult. The pigment applies streakily so you'll have to apply multiple layers, at which point the diagonal cut between the two pigments automatically blends the two colors for you so I guess it's not all that bad.
However, I don't know if it's just my lips or if the product is seriously high maintenance because it doesn't look good on me unless I spend around 20 minutes layering and perfecting the application. The colors cling more to some parts of my lip while leaving some parts bare, and I don't think they look as vibrant as they do in the adverts.

Final verdict: I'm glad I did the 3-month test on this one. It was exciting at first but ultimately, I had to pass because the end product looks messy and isn't pigmented enough.
