Air Optix Colors in Green (Graded)

Air Optix Colors in Green (Graded)

I've already written extensively about the comfort and long wearability of Air Optix Colors (8-12 hours not requiring drops, without being particularly careful of drying environments). I've also had some fit issues with the center window which caused me to take out 0.25 points from my scoring on an otherwise perfect product.

During The Row 101 Summer Popup last May 9, I was able to buy graded Air Optix for only Php 300! Last I checked, they were selling for Php 1450 for the ungraded ones, and Php 1550 for graded ones. It was the official distributor selling them, so at first I was a little nervous about it. I did try to get confirmation on the expiration date (12-2017) so everything checks out!

Coloring:

Of all the available colors in both the subtle and vibrant line, Green must be the most peculiar. I don't know if we are just not used to seeing green eyes, but I was so afraid that they would look so artificial.... like a couple of green laser discs floating over my eyeballs.

Air Optix Colors Green

Green is a highly pixelated design with a brown inner ring, a range of green to green-yellow flecks on the primary ring, and a grey outer ring.

On dark eyes such as mine, they translate beautifully. I would say Green offers the most natural lightening of eyes out of all the Air Optix Colors I've tried - Honey, Pure Hazel, Green and Grey. This is suitable for those who want to wear colored contact lens but don't want to seem like they're wearing a colored set.

Enlargement: These measure 14.2mm. I'd still class them as 'regular' and not circle lenses because they don't enlarge my pupil area.

Comfort: True to expectation, Air Optix Colors is made for really long wear. I still take it out as soon as I get home because foreign objects inside the eye can never be good. But among those foreign objects I can put in my eye, this would be one of the better ones. I've tried more cheapo lenses in Korea and I've noticed they were harder to wear. They were difficult to put on and my eyes get red much faster. Air Optix has good material suitable for people who are first-time lens wearers.

Color Accuracy / Print: My rave about the print and design is double-edged. This is not for anyone who wants to see emerald pupils. Nature rarely rolls that way anyway, which is why I appreciate Green's subtlety. In my opinion, azure eyes (very bright blue eyes) are more common and easy to visualize than light green eyes. To me, greens have always looked greyish, bluish or even light brown(ish).

If you are looking for a natural green, this is it. A great plus is how well it blends with brown eyes. I'd say it's the most deceiving Air Optix Colors, moreso than Honey or Pure Hazel - which I expected to be the least obvious sets since my eyes are brown. I would like to try the Brown set though, before I can definitively say that Green is the most natural-looking.

Edge: I love how high-quality Air Optix lenses are. You can wear them for extended periods, and they look well-blended, as opposed to flat. If you're looking for costume lenses though, you can find cheaper and flashier sets that you can dispose after a few uses.

Beauty By Tellie score: 4.875 / 5 - A cut above the other Air Optix Colors

I wasn't thinking clearly during the huge sale so I bought Green, Grey and Pure Hazel (again.) I wish I'd gotten Brown to try, instead of Pure Hazel!
