Peter Thomas Roth is Here!!!

2017 was the year of the skincare, and it doesn't seem to show signs of stopping for 2018. Any new skincare brand is welcome - especially good ones. Peter Thomas Roth is a brand largely available in Sephora. And what's the hype all about? Well after hearing that it's the number 2 brand in Sephora US, and number 1 in the biggest beauty market (China) I'm all ears. I know I've been seeing it in Sephora PH as well, especially when I was cruising the SpookPH sale and all I remember thinking is: who is Peter Thomas Roth and why is he so expensive??

Peter Thomas Roth marries natural ingredients such as 9000-year-old Irish Moor Mud, Antarcticine from Artcic glacial ice and Camu Camu berries from the Amazon, with 21st-century technology. They are known for their effective and clinical formulations, so if I were to shop the brand, I'd take specialty items like serums and masks. Liz tells me that the Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream is a hyped item!

From the brand, however, their best sellers are:

Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel - I luckily have a sample of this! The PTR girls also swear by it, and now that I've photographed it #bloggerlyf I'm sidelining my In Her Element Low pH Rose Gel Cleanse to make way for it. Though I love my IHE, promises of "advanced exfoliating and cleansing action" has my crusts all excited <3

Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum - contains Time-released Microencapsulated Retinol which works consistently throughout the night, instead of overdosing you upon application and evaporating to the environment.

My main man, however, is the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser (P 1500 / 120ml). I have a bigger sample of this item and was more attracted to the marshmallowy graphic, but since the PTR girls hyped me up on the Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, I decided to do a week of that first before trying a week of the Water Drench.

The Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser is a fragrance-free cleanser that promises to remove makeup and impurities - pretty standard, right? But with cleansing being such a stripping process, I am so game to figure out how hyaluronic acid comes into play. Hyaluronic acid is one of the feature ingredients in this cleanser and as some of you may know, is a crusty girl's dream. Hyaluronic acid can retain up to 1000 times its weight in moisture, and can draw it from the atmosphere. With the Philippines being as humid as it is, I have no doubt about how well HA performs here. However, I've only seen it in moisturizers and it's pretty interesting to see how that comes into play in the form of a cleanser!
